Outcome measures and patient-reported outcomes Live

Outcome measures your patients answer on WhatsApp, graphed for you

Doctors refer back when they see numbers. Physio Clinic Software records 13 outcome measures, sends short patient questionnaires as a private WhatsApp link, flags changes beyond the minimal clinically important difference and puts first and latest scores into the progress letter.

In short: Physio Clinic Software includes 13 outcome measures: NPRS, ODI, NDI, LEFS, DASH, KOOS, SPADI, the Patient-Specific Functional Scale, a 15-point Global Rating of Change, Berg Balance Scale, Timed Up and Go, 30-second chair stand and 6-minute walk test. NPRS, PSFS and GROC can be answered by the patient through a private WhatsApp link in English, Tamil or Hindi, on demand or every 14–28 days. Scores are graphed, flagged against MCID and used in progress letters.

Patient-reported outcomes on WhatsApp

1

Send

From the patient record pick NPRS, PSFS and GROC and press Send link, or switch on automatic questions every 14, 21 or 28 days for patients on a home plan.

2

Patient answers

A one-minute page in English, Tamil or Hindi with large buttons. It shows no name or earlier answers, works once and expires after 7 days.

3

Scores land in the chart

Answers are scored and stored as outcome scores with the date, next to the scores you recorded in clinic.

4

Letters use them

First and latest scores, with the change and an MCID flag, appear in the week-6 or discharge letter you review and send.

Range of motion from a photo or a short video

The phone-camera ROM tool now works with video as well as photos. Record or upload a few seconds of the movement, scrub frame by frame to the start position, tap the three points (upper segment, joint centre, lower segment), then do the same at end range: the tool shows the start angle, end angle and arc of movement.

It is a measuring aid, not an automated assessment. You place the points and confirm the reading before it is saved, the video never leaves the phone, and it suits movements in the camera's plane such as knee, elbow and hip flexion. No validation study has been published, so confirm borderline or medico-legal readings with a goniometer.

Frequently asked questions

Which outcome measures can patients fill in themselves on WhatsApp?

The Numeric Pain Rating Scale, the Patient-Specific Functional Scale and a 15-point Global Rating of Change. They are short, freely usable and work well on a phone. Licensed questionnaires such as ODI or DASH are completed on your clinic's own form and the total is entered.

In which languages are the patient questions?

English, Tamil and Hindi today. Patients whose language is set to Telugu, Kannada or Malayalam see the English text for now; the WhatsApp message itself still greets them in their language.

Can I add a measure that is not in the list?

Yes. Add any measure with its code, maximum score, whether higher or lower is better and its minimal clinically important difference. It then appears in score entry, graphs and progress letters.

How accurate is the video ROM tool?

As accurate as the video angle and your point placement. Film square to the plane of movement at joint height with the whole limb in frame. It suits sagittal-plane movements like knee and elbow flexion, does not measure rotation or spine, and has no published validation study.

Are outcome measures included in every plan?

Yes. All 13 measures, patient questionnaires by link, graphs, MCID flags and the photo and video ROM tool are on every plan from ₹999 per therapist a month.
